We are gearing up for Add+VantageMR Fractions!
US Math Recovery Council®’s first blended learning course experience launches on September 22, 2016.
The blended learning format brings together the benefits of both face-to-face and online learning environments. A total of seven sessions takes place over 10-12 weeks providing flexibility for learners. Each session contains a series of modules or activities with opportunities to engage in new fractions content through readings, video, and e-learning modules. Additionally, there are many opportunities to apply new learning to work with students. All sessions conclude with a face-to-face or virtual session that builds upon the independent module work. Add+VantageMR® Fractions course sessions are listed below.
- Session 1: Introduction to Fractions
- Session 2: Mental Actions Supporting Fraction Understanding
- Session 3: Units Coordination Supporting Fraction Understanding
- Session 4: Fraction Concepts Model and Assessment
- Session 5: From Assessment to Instruction
- Session 6: Instruction Informed by Assessment
- Session 7: Applying Learning to the Classroom
About 100 individuals from the Math Recovery® community will participate in the first course occurring simultaneously with the Math Recovery® National Conference. Additional opportunities to join a Math Recovery® sponsored AVMR Fractions course will be available in January 2017.
